najeon chilgi (나전칠기)

Furniture inlaid with thin-ground shell under layers of lacquer; the colour shifts with the angle of the light. The mother-of-pearl wardrobe brought as a wedding gift was thrown out for years as dated, and design has been calling it back recently.
