Han
Stray Kids' main rapper, a vocalist, and one third of 3RACHA, the in-house trio that writes the group's songs. Known for rapid-fire verses and quokka cheeks.
His real name is Han Ji-sung, born in 2000 in Incheon. After stints in Incheon and Mokpo, his family moved to Malaysia when he was in elementary school. International school didn't click, so he switched to homeschooling and cleared every level, elementary through high school, with equivalency exams. Over there he went by Peter. With almost no classmates around, he grew up craving friends and feeling a little lonely, and that feeling later became his self-written solo track Alien. Mokpo still leaks out sometimes as a Jeolla accent. Fans also love his Malaysian jungle story: swept away by a flooded river, he grabbed a rock, looked back, and saw a crocodile tail slap the water.
To calm his parents' nerves before chasing music in Korea, he got his high school equivalency first and promised to go back to Malaysia for college if nothing happened within a year. It took three months. He passed the JYP Entertainment audition on his first try and came in as a rap trainee. Back then he and Hyunjin could not stand each other. Their legendary spat went 'you just rap well' versus 'you just dance well'. These days they call each other neighborhood buddies.
He debuted with Stray Kids in 2018. On paper he's the main rapper, yet he also carries a lot of the group's high notes. His specialty is a bright, fast flow with diction so clean you catch nearly every word, and his crisp, soda-fresh vocals fill hooks and backing lines, including the ones behind S-Class. In 2019 he sang behind a mask on King of Mask Singer, and on the competition show Kingdom: Legendary War he nailed a high vocal part that left the other contestants stunned. Proof that he raps because he loves it, not because he can't sing.
The real weapon is his pen. With Bang Chan and Changbin he forms the production unit 3RACHA, where he wrote as J.ONE, and title tracks like God's Menu came out of that trio's studio. As of September 2026 he has 206 songs registered with the Korea Music Copyright Association, seventh among K-pop idols and ahead of WOOZI and G-DRAGON. Bang Chan is first and Changbin sixth, so one group owns three spots near the top. He calls his signature mood lyrical, which is why he once introduced himself as a lyrical rapper about to leave a mark on the industry. His process: write about half, then finish the rest while recording. Sunshine took him two hours. In an era when songwriting credits are a flex for idols, his name shows up constantly.
Half his nicknames are animals. He stuffs food into his cheeks, so fans cycled through squirrel, hamster and quokka until the group's official SKZOO character made him Han Quokka. Then there's 'the fine'. In Australia you can get fined for touching a quokka, so whenever Han walks toward the camera the comments fill with 'ready to pay the fine'. The mole on his cheek is 'the choco chip'. His pairing with Lee Know is called Bbo-ttaramji, and a trainee-era story about asking I.N for a cheek kiss made the two of them the Kiss Duo.
Offstage he runs in two modes. Around the members he's the spark that sets off the group's energy, but alone in his vlogs he's calm to the point of sleepy and pretty shy with strangers. He cries easily and couldn't finish his speech after the group's first music show win. In December 2019 he stepped back to selective activities to rest and get treatment for an anxiety disorder. His impressions are elite, with Lee Sun-kyun's 'one vongole pasta' as his go-to. He's a huge anime fan who often pulls songwriting ideas from it, has watched Howl's Moving Castle more than seven times, and lives with a lizard named Richard and a bichon named Ppama.
His web of connections is fun too. Jeongyeon watched Kingdom, got hooked on Han, and asked for his number because she wanted to learn songwriting from him. People often say he looks like Young K of labelmates DAY6. His K-pop gateway song was Lonely by 2NE1, and the track that always lifts him up is O.O by NMIXX. In 2026 he dropped the solo digital single back to life and showed up at Tod's menswear presentation in Milan.
